Quest Recent update, SBS 3D no longer works

Device, system/OS, app(s). Not just DeoVR, but Plex, Virtual Desktop, etc. Are you transcoding/encoding? If so which GPU and format. WiFi/tethered. all that kind of stuff 🙂

If you have Media info, can you share the the relevant metadata?

Same problem on quest 2 afer update to 9.0. Reinstall doesn't help. Other apps (for exaple pigasus) work great.

Please give as much information you can, app settings, file format, codec, device settings, metadata (ie Media Info app. We've not been able to reproduce these issues or what the commonality is besides Oculus. If you have this on a non-Oculus device, please tell us too!

Tony hello I know why we have this problem : it's when gardian on quest 2 is desactived the VR is fucked. I just did the test.

It happens in every SBS video format. Resolution, FPS, bitrate and codec don't matter.

Eldictator I have oculus quest 1 with guardian disabled and everything works as expected for sbs stereo. must be something quest2 specific.

timkoa22 no idea what is the difference then. both mono and stereo sbs 3d are working pretty fine for me with guardian disabled...

When I turn on the guardian, the problem disappears.
Then when I turn it off again, the problem comes again.

rmartins It's the tracker. I don't know for Quest 1, but on Quest 2 guardian and tracker have their own switch. But it's safe to assume Guardian by default also enables Tracker.

Tony I can confirm the stereo glitch happens in DeoVR when tracking is dissabled on Quest 1. Which it usualy is when playing Video.

Same problem on my Quest2. Exactly the same. Happened after latest update.

Same problem here as well on my Quest 1 playing SBS videos with tracking/guardian disabled. Left and right frame stutter and flash while video is playing. Also the image is oversized. Solutions that i've found to stop the stuttering is to have the player controls overlay active while playing videos. Also you can go to options from within the video and click "Force Mono". This gets rid of the stuttering but the oversized image is still an issue. Never had this issue in the past months of using Deo. Any way to downgrade to the previous verison?

Can anybody from the DEOVR development team give us an update about a quick fix of this problem ? This is lasting for more than one week and make DEOVR useless as far as I'm concerned. I'm currently trying to find another VR media player. I tried Pegasus which does not have the same issue and is still working in the same conditions (with guardian disabled), but I find the user interface not so convenient.

Agree with the above. This makes the app all but useless. Can we get an ETA on a fix? If this isn't remedied quickly I'll be looking for a replacement elsewhere.

Tony Yes, enabling tracking is kind of a "quick fix". But not a fix for when tracking isn't avaliable.

Please actually fix it.

Turning the guardian on "fixes" the issue, but we shouldn't have to be in a brightly lit room with the guardian set up to use a media player. I almost universally use DeoVR with the tracker off, and I assume so do many many others.
