Quest Recent update, SBS 3D no longer works

Can anybody from the DEOVR development team give us an update about a quick fix of this problem ? This is lasting for more than one week and make DEOVR useless as far as I'm concerned. I'm currently trying to find another VR media player. I tried Pegasus which does not have the same issue and is still working in the same conditions (with guardian disabled), but I find the user interface not so convenient.

Enabling tracking doesn't fix it?

Agree with the above. This makes the app all but useless. Can we get an ETA on a fix? If this isn't remedied quickly I'll be looking for a replacement elsewhere.

Tony Yes, enabling tracking is kind of a "quick fix". But not a fix for when tracking isn't avaliable.

Please actually fix it.

Turning the guardian on "fixes" the issue, but we shouldn't have to be in a brightly lit room with the guardian set up to use a media player. I almost universally use DeoVR with the tracker off, and I assume so do many many others.

DeoVR for me has been broken with this flickering problem for weeks. Developer says enable guardian, well guess what v28 for Quest2 has some other error where I CANNOT enable guardian! So therefore DeoVR continues to have extremely annoying error. Can you please look into actually fixing this, rather than workaround which does not work for me? I have the latest version of everything and broken for 3 weeks. Completely unusable!

alanmckinley123 I just don't see the problem with having Tracking on. I use a Quest 2 myself and I don't have any issues from it. (?)

Same for me (on pc), something seems to be wrong with the file handling, even on ssd.
Streaming however, is perfectly fine. Local files stutter so much they are unplayable.

Because it doesn't work in a room with lights off/dim, it doesn't work if you switch rooms, it doesn't work in a car/plane/train, it doesn't work outside, and it doesn't work for anyone who has the recent v27/v28 guardian defect.

A lot of people use the Quest almost as if it were an Oculus Go, so there is no reason to have tracking enabled.

Tony Many people turned Tracking to off for watching movies 3D SBS on bed in night room it no light so it has to turn tracking to off. Why you can't understand?

Same problem here. And if you can’t use a video player in a dark/dimly lit environment, it is rather useless.

OATKK I just never had any issues with it and never turned it off. So I didn't understand what the big deal was to have it on. But I get now some people have issues with it in the dark.

This update is undergoing a candidate release testing phase.

Let's hope the testing is a bit more thorough than with the recent updates. People really shouldn't have to use an older version for weeks/months while waiting for issues to be fixed.

I confirm the same issue on the Quest 2. Disabling tracking causes stereo videos to glitch. There's a temporary workaround, at least for me. If I turn the lights on and enable tracking while a video in DeoVR is open, and then disable tracking and go dark again, the problem goes away until I restart DeoVR.
