Luc1965 Yar you said this will be address soon... that's was Sept 18 .... were now October 28th ... what's up ??
Tony deovrbeta Luc1965 Aazamandius kduke slartybartfarst jennyskarguina ambkyy This is not a DeoVR bug, this is an iOS bug. Many VR apps are broken. See iOS 14 broke VR
DeoAesthetics There's not much we can do atm. It requires a lot of upgrade. Initially Apple could have it fixed, but they won't. I'd recommend you guys to upgrade to Quest 2. iPhone was never a good device for VR.
DeoAesthetics deovrbeta They fixed it with 14.0.2 iOS update https://twitter.com/DeoVRplayer/status/1329514733230284805
deovrbeta iPhones were not meant for VR, nor are they supported any longer. We will fully cease iPhone app support on January 31st, 2021 Ouch.
kduke Tony That is not how I understand it. It's not an iOS bug. It seems that older versions of the Google Cardboard SDK (probably used used by DeoVR and others) are now obsolete and not compatible with iOS14. As already stated by N8Flight (and seen on many forums), building the App with a newer version of the SDK solves the problem. I guess it's easier said than done since the new SDK may not be 100% fully compatible with the way DeoVR currently interacts with it.
Tony kduke Correct, need all these to be compatible/updated iOS > Cardboard > Unity > AVPro Video As I understand, I'm not a dev.
byrond Would you consider open-sourcing the now unsupported iPhone app, so it can be rebuilt with the latest Cardboard SDK? Casual VR users likely won't be comfortable spending $200 - 400 and up just to use this app. Phones are still good for an introduction to VR and are sufficient for watching videos.
Tony byrond You're also going to need Unity3D and http://renderheads.com/products/ Unity3D plugins. Then wait for an update to have it working with Google Cardboard For iOS and iOS14. Once you got that and updated it, you need to get it on the app store or jailbreak your iPhone. Or come work for us.
