Unfortunately, some technical processes cannot work without updating, this is due in most cases to interaction with the backend.
This is incorrect, older versions of DeoVR run perfectly fine. In fact, as many posts on the forum have demonstrated, for many users the older versions run better than the newer ones. See this thread on the Steam Community forums where multiple people give instructions for how to download older versions of the software: https://steamcommunity.com/app/837380/discussions/0/3151934575294138631/
Therefore, updates will still need to be installed, and we cannot provide links to old versions.
No, you could, you just don't want to.
Better just write to support, what is broken and we will help to solve these issues.
Writing to support is a waste of time. See this thread https://forum.deovr.com/d/456-problems-with-vp9-lavfilters where many people have reported the same issue, with detailed descriptions and possible workarounds, and the issue has never been acknowledged. Or take https://forum.deovr.com/d/421-very-low-framerates-in-8k-videos-after-latest-update where a bunch of people have reported severe bugs which make the software essentially unusable for a bunch of different videos, and the issues have still not been resolved multiple months after they were reported.
But don't worry, everyone experiencing critical bugs which break basic functionality! The devs are still hard at work adding super important things like... erm... AB loops that can be controlled down to the millisecond and something called "ZCam K1 Pro fish-eye mesh support"! Why on earth would you want to use an older, much more functional version, when you'd be missing out on these amazing additions?!?!
This is a really disappointing way to engage with the community.
