The sharpness of video slideshows of 3d photos that I have seen on deovr.com is impressive. This will presumably make them look even better.

I watched many 2D pictures in a 3D headset, and the effect is already mind-blowing. It's day-and-night difference comparing to using a computer monitor. VR picture watching is much more engaging.
If DeoVR really supports original 2D/3D pictures, that will definitely make your App a winner.

I would love to view VR180/360/3D photos on DeoVR. Here is my wish list of features (knowing that a lot of these probably are not feasible)
Ability to upload bulk photos as a group that can be played like a slide show, either automatically or with the controller thumbstick
During upload process, let us upload a music file to play with the slide show. Or even better, team up with an music website that allows sharing of their music. Then, users can choose a song from a database of music tracks.
Make the photo upload process as easy as possible to upload photos in various formats such as 3D, VR180, 360, 3D-360, Panorama, Half SBS stereo-3D, Full SBS stereo-3D, Fisheye, etc.
allow the same zoom in/zoom out feature on photos that you currently have with videos
6DoF capabilities - either allow user to upload a depth map for the photo or DeoVR uses it's own algorithms to figure out depth of the photo. Would love it to be similar how Facebook creates 3D photos....it splits the image up in Z-depth and then fills in the resulting holes with similar color pixels. When viewing these 3D Facebook photos in a Quest, I was able to literally WALK into the photo....it was so cool!
Like another user mentioned, being able to upload a photo with an alpha channel (such as a PNG file) could be cool. Then the viewer could view the photo in passthrough mode and the subject of your photo would be in their room.
Make sure the photos get properly tagged during the upload process and add Photo-specific categories to the site. I think currently, the only photo category on the site is "3D Images". Would be nice if users could filter out everything except the specific photo type they want to view, whether it be 180, 360, or stereo-3D. (I'm not sure DeoVR needs to host 2D photos...there are already many websites that host 2D photos, such as Instagram, Flickr, Tumblr, etc.
OR....if users do upload 2D photos, it would be cool if DeoVR could convert them to stereo-3D. There are already ways to do this with AI.

In anticipation for photos coming to DeoVR, I decided to make a slide show of photos. I've made plenty of VR videos and animations, but never really explored photos much. My current VR180 camera doesn't take the best photos so I decided to create a stereoscopic 3D photo slide show, with the theme of "Faces". I found all the best close-up face photos I could (and created some with AI), then upscaled them to 8K (with AI), created depth maps of them (with AI), and used those depth maps to create an 8K 3D image. It looks really cool in VR. Take a look:

Just created some 3D images myself so I hope this feature is included in the next update!
philpw99 A curved screen might work for 2D photos, but not so much for 3D photos. So a button that can toggle between a flat/curved screen would be the best option.
spinningblade Agree, many of the other players have this exact thing.
The true workaround is to use something like 3Dcombine. But not really practical for everyone to do, only content types.

VR Photos is nice but the real interest would be to chained those photos into a slideshow with the possibility to add a background music and le the viewer to go back and forth the diaporama at his own rythm. That could be done into a video but that's not as good as a slideshow. In the video if you go to the next photos or the previous one, the background music is skipped wich is not into aq slideshow. That give a more smooth viewing.
Too, in a video the creator decide the time each pictures stay on screen, in the slideshow, the viewer decide when he wnat to go to the next picture. For those reasons, I think that a slideshow presenting a sequence of alll king of pictures (180, 360, 2d, 3d and even short video) would be a great add to Deo Vr.

Usually photo collections are organized by folders. So if DeoVR can enable a json file to tell the specs of all the photos in this folder, it will be great.
This json file can have the whole list of photo, or photo collections in different resolution. It can specify the background picture and the background music. It can also set the default curvature of pictures, or even individual curvature of each picture.
With this json file, we can also mix 2D pictures with 3D ones.
If we take this concept to a new height, it can even become an interactive experience. Not just the simple "left" or "right" for next picture, but "Up for choosing another way", "Right for choosing what to do next"... etc.
