From my understanding in PC DeoVR the AV1 support depends on Microsoft's Media Foundation support:

So as long as your PC satisfies the requirement mentioned in it, DeoVR should be playing AV1 videos just fine.

Yet not really impressed by the resolution. 2064x2208 per eye means there still will be screen door effect, and I am really fed up with it. For a monitor, 30% pixel count bump up is just marginally better.
Other things like color pass-through, AV1 decoding, and better processor are quite good. Totally worth the $500 it asks.
