DeoVR, I've said it before and even made videos about how yall are the best vr video app and the closest thing to a "youtube for vr" (aside from the very scuffed youtube vr). But I very much feel like yall aren't seeing how the lack of community tools is hampering the growth of a viewer-base. What I mean by community tools, I'm referring to things like:
- The ability to comment in-app
- The ability to like a video (and not just favorite it)
- Viewing a subscriptions-only feed (currently when you slick on subscriptions, it's just their channel IDs, not the latest videos they uploaded)
- NOTIFICATIONS FOR COMMENTS. I get ZERO notifications on whether someone replied to my comment, liked it, etc.
These are all things that help viewers become fans of creators, build audience communities, build creator communities, and just connect people. What's the point of uploading content if we can't even get feedback on our work? Currently in order for me to comment on someone's video, I need to do the following:
- I watch it in-app, and if I like it...
- I favorite it
- I go to my desktop and login to the deovr website
- I go to my favorites to re-find the video
- Then I click in to leave a comment
Please, DeoVR team. Recognize the value in building community and creating tools that translate to both in-app and on the website. And please don't give me that "oh you can do it in the API blah blah blah I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THE API, I AM TALKING ABOUT DEOVR AS A CONTENT PLATFORM ITSELF. Yall could really be THE ONE, just help the audience and creators to connect with each other!!!
