Should Fisheye180 or mkx200 be preferred instead of DeoVR Fisheye190?

Hi everyone. I don't have the budget to afford a high-end VR headset like Oculus yet.

Right now, I'm using DeoVR on my Xiaomi phone, and it is arguably one of the best VR players on the market. The headset I'm using is a Samsung Gear VR, and the specific DeoVR version I run is v8.54.

I am aware that DeoVR has dropped support for Cardboard, so obviously, it won’t be getting any updates.

Most, if not all, of the newly released videos are made in the Fisheye190 format.

What I want to ask you is: as an alternative to Fisheye190, should I choose Fisheye180 or mkx200?

I'd really appreciate your support on this.

Note: Please do not reply with generic advice like "just buy a good VR headset" or "get an Oculus."

durdvrx Hey! For Gear VR/Cardboard-style viewing, Fisheye180 will usually work better than mkx200.
mkx200 is generally intended for newer headsets and can look distorted or uncomfortable on older mobile VR setups.

Hello. Most of the videos from an adult film studio -you know which studio I mean, and I think you also have an partnership with them- are in Fisheye190 and mkx200.

When I select Fisheye180, the characters on the screen look more squeezed inward, and their proportions seem thin and tall. On the other hand, mkx200 feels a bit wide...

Hello,
I'm not posting about a technical issue here.
The DeoVR players, specifically the mobile versions, lack the Fisheye190 feature.
I wanted to ask whether I should use Fisheye180 or MKX200 as the closest alternative to Fisheye190?

Hey man, now you see how they resolve everything with "relay your message to dev team"?
The cheap oculus quest 3s is like $300 now, and you can pick a cheaper one up in Ebay.
Once you use Quest 3s, you will see how much the differences will be. Phone VR can never compete.
For your question, if your DeoVR cannot support FishEye190, how about other alternatives like Play'A, Skybox, Whirligig...etc. Have you tried them all?

philpw99 No, unfortunately I neither have the budget nor can I use those apps you mentioned (because my device doesn't support them). I've given up hope by now, I'll just keep going like this. Thanks for your interest.
