Hey folks 👋

As many of you know, we’ve been hard at work on the new version of our VR app called Hyper — and we’re finally ready to show you a Beta version of what we’ve been crafting.

You can install it to your Quest from here: 👉️ Get Hyper on SideQuest

How to Install

Connect your Quest headset to your computer using a cable.
Open the Hyper page on SideQuest.
On the right panel under the app name, click the “Sideload” button.
Wait for it to finish installing — and that’s it!

What’s New

Faster performance - more stable, and more responsive
Fresh design - fresh new look and feel
Improved navigation - easier to browse and find what you’re looking for

Playlists
Improved search
Video info panel

This build’s not final, so some features and performance improvements are still in progress.

Very excited to learn about Hyper ! Hope you guys get this out ASAP!
Could you clarify things on the description?

The meaning of "Volumetric videos" ? Are those Gaussian Splatting videos from Meta, or something else?
BYOJ. So how the script will look like? Will it be a separate file or a track inside the video?
The passthrough mode. Will that be the same methods in DeoVR or there will be new methods?

Deovr hyper have no pc link options?
Hmm, many have strong pc for higher framerate viewing on deovr. Standalone headset have limits

At the moment the regular version is more than enough, I might try deo-hyper if released on pc

For now, there are no additional details - we will announce it separately.
We are not planning to add Chromakey at the moment (colour picking). Otherwise, AR and AI PT are the same as old DeoVR.
