No, not the DLNA.
If I have a webpage that has a link like "http://192.168.1.10/myvideos/1.mp4", when I click on that link, the good old DeoVR player will open it natively in full screen, treating it like opening a local file.
( Right now if I do the same in Hyper, it will open the video file inside the browser. It cannot be full screen or set to SBS or any format, just flat. )
Over the years I found out that this is the best way to open videos in the local network. I don't need to implement https with deep link json files. Just a direct http link and it will work flawlessly. So if the new Hyper can also do that, it will be great for local servers.
We really don't want to expose our servers to the Internet, so https certificates, which require Internet access, is not a good option for us.
Another option might be setting a special handler like "deovrdirect://192.168.1.10/myvideos/1.mp4", which presumes http instead of https as "deovr://192.168.1.10/myvideos/1.json".
Or if you can implement something like "deovrlocal://192.168.1.10/myvideos/1.json" and offer us the deep link feature via http, that will be a great blessing for so many of us VR viewers. We will jump into the Hyper wagon in troupes !
