File Browser Doesn’t Show System Folders (and It’s A Problem)

Could yall update DeoVR to show folders with a “System” attribute, because they are currently hidden. And yes, I did check the option to show hidden files, but it doesn’t do anything for me.

Why do I need this? Because I my entire movie collection organized separated into directories, with the movie poster set as the folder icon. This is how I like to organize all my media so I’ve written a bunch of scripts to automate the task. The problem is that for the “desktop.ini” file to add the icon, the directory must have the system attribute added. Thus, I can’t see any of my media as a result. If you don’t understand what I mean about folder icons and desktop.ini files, see the attached images.

If I understand you correctly, your issue can be solved by adding video thumbs for video files.

Yar Um, I don't know what you mean? My issue is that when I'm in DeoVR and I try to go to something like "F:\Movies" to see what's there. But nothing shows up because, from what I can tell, DeoVR doesn't display files/folders that have a system attribute. Since all my movie folders have to have that system attribute to have that folder icon, I literally can't access my media files

Have you changed your settings for what is allowed to be shared through the network? If you aren’t streaming the files online but “streaming” them through your network (DLNA) you may need to adjust what is able to be shared across your network. Check to see which files can be shared in your network settings. I’ve found that image files need to be enabled to be shared across the network as I only had access to video files through DLNA while image files could only be accessed when connected to my device through Bluetooth. If that’s the discrepancy try my solution, and if it’s a bust head on back and we can throw around some more ideas.

This is strange! A movie folder is not supposed to have system attribute at all !
The system attribute is only reserved for very important files and folders for windows, and regular programs are not supposed to have access to it.
Thumbnail should be automatically generated by the explorer. A folder's icon should not be a file's icon. The way you do this movie organizing is very strange.
For movie organizing, I recommend the free Plex program. It can automatically retrieve a movie's poster, stars, and synopsis. You can enable its DLNA feature, so you will see the folders in DeoVR by using DLNA.
