no folder shows in file browse

hey just wondering since i've be en having this issue for a while. i've bee nwatching movies anmie with vr headset so i can enjoy them while lying down. but some of the videos just did not show up in deovr. like, the main folder is there, but all the sub folders and the files are gone. but i can still see them on my desktop pc. i put these files all in an external drive.
i've been looking around for solution but no luck. any idea what happened?

Hi!
Make sure you have all app permissions enabled. Place your files in internal phone folders... external drive not supported.

Since you mentioned Anime movies, maybe it's because of the folder/file names ? DeoVR is not good at handling non-English folder names.

i actually changed the folder names all in english and file names into something like 01, 02, etc. but still cannot see them in the app. i'm using oculus quest and connected to pc.

i also noticed the issue is all with the folders i copied from google drive folders. i'm using google drive desktop app where they use virtual drive system. however i always make sure i copied them to my external drive hence downloading them to local drives. but deo vr is unable to show these folders. any idea or solution?

to be clear, i also tried to delete those "desktop.ini" files that is created in these folders by google drive. but still no luck

It's possible that you copied a folder's "hardware-link" to your external drive. So it seems fine with file explorer, but missing in other apps.
Maybe run a "CMD" in that location and "dir" it to see if they are actually folders or just links.

Please try creating a folder with a file browser and just copy the files into it.
Will the folder be visible in this case?
