Hahaha, I don't own DeoVR stocks, but I am a long time user and I like the app from the beginning. Yeah, it was not a smooth ride, the worst was when I found out DeoVR couldn't play back 7k video smoothly like before. Yet after a couple weeks of investigation I found the solution and now even 8k/10bit videos are fine with HEVC decoding.
So I always want to give them some breaks. After all, so many VR players went belly up and gave up. DeoVR deserves some credit for just being survived.
It's also UI 101 that you need to make the interface as simple as possible for newbies. The veterans prefer as many features as possible on the first screen, but it will only overwhelm newbies. So there is always a balance between simple UI and more handy features on the screen.
In this new UI case, I think DeoVR did a great job: they made the UI even simpler than before. Yeah, for veterans you will find it terrible because now you need more clicks to reach the same feature, but I think most of those features can be easily mapped to buttons of a gamepad. So if you are really a veteran of DeoVR, you should start using GamePad or other methods to achieve your goal, not complaining about an UI being too simple.
