Switch cardboard viewer

Hi! I am using DeoVR on my Android 11 smartphone to watch 3d SBS movies with a cardboard viewer. Let me first say that I love DeoVR very much! It's by far the best movie player for this!
However, I am unable to change the cardboard viewer settings. Currently, only a small part of my screen is used and the image is very distorted. When I click the gearwheel at the top-right corner to change settings, the app crashes. When I change the default viewer in googles cardboard app, nothing changes in DeoVR. So my question is: How can I change the viewer setting for DeoVR? Thanks!

maximi We plan to completely discontinue Cardboards with upcoming updates. It's not sustainable platform in 2022. You might enjoy VR much better with Quest 2 or any Windows headset

What a pity! I think DeoVR works great with cardboard, apart from some very small problems ... I very much hope that you reconsider this decision in the future, since lots of people are still using it! Personally, I also dont think that this is not sustainable: VR will never gain a large market share if you have to spend hundreds of dollars for specialized hardware.
Regarding my problem: Maybe, is there any way to change viewer related settings in a config file or database directly?

The distortion has nothing to do with DeoVR ! I started using DeoVR just like you, with a cardboard player. The images was kinda strange. Then I googled and found out I need to get the QRcode for my own cardboard.

I chose the closest qrcode, and it greatly improve the image in DeoVR.
In the end I followed the guide here:

and generated my own qrcode. It works great!
But of course no matter how you calibrate, still the dedicated HMDs have better straighter lines.

Hey, thanks for the reply! I know that I can scan a qr code, you can even create your own code on wwgc.firebaseapp.com. The problem I'm having is that whichever viewer I set up or scan in googles cardboard app, the DeoVR app is ignoring it and always shows a very small and distorted picture. Somehow the link between the cardboard library and deovr seems to be broken ... I think this happened with the update to android 11

To rule out whether this is a problem with my specific setup: Is here anybody using deovr on a smartphone with android 11 who is able to switch viewer settings? (Or is willing to test this?) Thank You so much!
