I'm finding that videos which are specifically "tagged" as VR in the metadata will only be displayed as 2D in the DeoVR player, unless I switch to "Direct 3D," in which case it displays properly again. However, I get lower framerates in Direct 3D mode in general, so I'd prefer not to have to do that. Is this a known bug, or am I having an issue on my end?
When I say DeoVR only displays the video as 2D, I mean that I have to be in "flat" mode, at which point DeoVR displays the same "eye" (one half of the video) to both eyes, so it looks like a 2D video. This is true for both SBS and TB content.
On my end, I'm using Windows 10, the Samsung Odyssey headset (Windows Mixed Reality), and DeoVR through SteamVR. I have Microsoft HEVC Extentions installed, as well as LAV Video (although I'm told Deo doesn't use LAV?).
Happy to provide any more info or mediainfo readouts of problematic media if needed.
Thanks!
