Account De-Monetized without Explanation

My account and all my (78) videos have been de-monetized and removed from premium status. I wasn't given a reason or notification about this before or after this happened. I'm trying to reach out by e-mail but haven't received a response which is strange. Please help, what should I do?

For anyone interested, this was due to having around 15 360degree videos in 1920, and 3 videos that were duplicate (out of 78 videos). Serious lack of communication before throwing a creator under the bus and removing their earnings permanently without even reaching out first to try and fix the issue.

Dear DeoVR staff,

I see the labors underway to make DeoVR better. The hyperlink to the creator’s handbook was a great addition.

If unaware, documentation isn’t just a formality; it’s a crucial support structure that makes the app usable. You could build the greatest app ever, but if documentation is lackluster --missing, hard to interpret, hard to locate, rife with dead-links -- people’s emotions about the app might become negative. When I first started – and even now – it’s hard to find guides/rules.

For your consideration:

-Add an index to the blog. I had to use Google to find a guide hidden within the blog.

-If you don’t want to add an index to the blog, add a Google search bar to the blog that has the site:deovr.com/blog/ appended to a search query. (https://programmablesearchengine.google.com/about/)

-If you don’t like either of those options, make/join a wiki. People might start writing guides for you...Confusion and frustration is a good motivator; however, preferably they are compensated (points, swag, prizes). {And even more on this...There is very very very little documentation on creating 3D/VR180 videos, and most of it is from the early 2000. And don’t even get me started on trying to learn the math behind optics… /rant }

Good documentation also helps you! Users will turn to customer support if they can’t find answers in documentation. This raises support costs and can slow down response times, leading to dissatisfied users who may leave if they feel unsupported. Support staff can also use documentation as a starting email template for customers who do reach out.

I've now been told the minimum is 4k, so I've deleted everything except the videos that are exactly similar in content to other channels that have Premium. Many were deleted already and are scheduled to be posted again. 31 total videos. Currently waiting for response from support

I mean...I agree with DeoVR on that one. I paid for premium, and I was a bit disappointed when I played a premium video and it was blurry and low res. Infrequently is blurry/low res content good or interesting enough to watch. I’m also lucky enough to have high speed internet, so my perspective might be skewed a little towards high-resolution = better.

It also wouldn’t surprise me DeoVR staff start cracking down on improper keyword use.

PYSKZ Yes maybe so regarding categories, it is hard not to be liberal when I think there are blurred lines between what can be included in each one. Although I don't think that's a good enough reason to remove Premium from an account that makes thousand views a day with positive comments on videos. If they have time to review every single video and make errors on whether a video can be premium or not (which they have) then they can let you know if categories are misused, or give warnings.

Regardless, I think maybe they should employ you on their team because you are better at communicating 😂😂 Maybe it won't take 3 days to get an e-mail response of 1 sentence.

It is frustrating. From what I’ve read, that’s still better than Google’s customer support. Supposedly, it’s impossible to get customer support from Google.

I’m also willing to bet that they didn’t review every single video. They ran a report, filtered for criteria, and acted on the results.
