I had the same symptom of it not loading on quest 2 after they released a new version. The further release didn’t solve it - as you say, flashes past to the Home Screen. I had had no problems with the three or four releases prior to mid June 2021.
I solved it. I found there was an update to the oculus main software available. In the oculus settings menu you have to scroll down to About, and in there it will check for updates. I applied the update, then was again Able to run Oculus.
So it seems to me that the newer versions of the DeoVr app are reliant on, and only being tested on, the latest version of oculus 2 software. I hope this helps someone else. Guys - you might want to make that information known more readily to users.
