How to do a clean install

Whenever I try to play a h265 local video file with directshow disabled, I get a frozen error message that requires a forced quit, this prevents me from re-enabling directshow for that file, hence making it unplayable, the workaround is to copy the file, then that copy takes on the default of having directshow enabled and so becomes playable, but this is stupid and tedious, how can I just clean install deovr without any video specific settings? is there an ini file or something that I can delete?

Hi, thanks for your feedback! You need to install HVEC from Microsoft store. I suppose this will solve your problem.

Thanks for your response, unfortunately I might not have been clear enough, I can play h265 local video files perfectly fine with deovr given that directshow is enabled and am happy with the playback, its only when directshow is toggled off does it stop playing and instead gives a frozen error message, all I want to do is re-enabled directshow for these specific files.

So I found a simpler workaround, where you can just rename the files, and therefore they no longer have the saved filename specific information, This then allows them to start with the chosen default settings, its still annoying that the uninstall process doesn't remove this filename specific information, as I have now reinstalled 3 times and even using registry cleaners doesn't remove it, where is this data stored if not within the apps install folder or registry?

No need to copy files, just rename them. Then the saved settings will not be applied.
