  • Deovr in Quest 2 first boot ran 3d full format movie, then VP9 error

Quick question: Installed in Quest 2, opened 3d mkv movie (full 3d) and it started perfectly, great 3d(!), enlarged screen, greater 3d(!!!), but no sound. Paused movie, looked in settings for something to help sound, clicked on Directshow and movie disappeared, vp9 error appeared.

Unchecked DS, still vp9 error. Tried 2d movie, vp9 error. Installed the recommended LAV filters from web page, ran 3 batch files. Tried again, vp9 error. Uninstalled then reinstalled Deovr app in Quest 2, vp9 error on any video file. Installed Deovr in Steam on pc, direct cable to Quest 2, ran desktop Steam Deovr app, vp9 error any movie file.

Have restarted pc twice.

Any thoughts? So strange as video played perfectly first time running, except with no sound.
Thanks!!!!!!!

Hey!
Can you rename the file? Then open it.

Thanks for the reply. Actually got the 3d working kind of yesterday, don't know how, though the frame rate was maybe 5 fps. (9700k @5ghz, 2080ti). Now have new powered usb cable for Quest 2. Booting up now using Oculus link Deovr will play the movies in 2d fine, though sound through pc speakers only. No 3d, and when playing a movie it sometimes locks the Directshow slider on, can't turn it off, sometimes it doesn't. Restart everything and then maybe Directshow slider is off, if I turn it on, then the movie freezes. Installed Madvr drivers just for heck of it, might try another player. Or, do I need to rip my 3d movies using something other than Makemkv? I'd hate to have to use sbs lower resolution that's why I like Deovr at first since it played the movies in full 3d fine. I did rename the movies, dropped dates, etc. but didn't seem to affect anything. I'll try anything else you think might help. Thanks.

deovrguy though sound through pc speakers only.

You can change the output in the sound setting. Click the speaker icon in the taskbar. You can also set to always use certain output with certain app.

Make sure the app you want to use is running
In windows go to Setting > Home > Sound > Advanced Sound Options > Select Output Device
