Greetings Programs!
I need to report a bug involving an odd interaction/collision of the "A-B Repeat" and "Previous Video" functionalities in the DeoVR application. I have confirmed/reproduced this bug in both the Oculus/Meta Store (PCVR) and Steam (PCVR) versions of DeoVR (this bug may also be present in other platforms/variants as well, though I cannot confirm). I use a Meta (Oculus) Quest 2 headset (running the Oculus/Meta Store version of DeoVR using either "Air Link" or "Link Cable" connection, and running the Steam version of DeoVR through "Virtual Desktop" connection).
BUG DESCRIPTION : If the "A-B Repeat" setting is currently enabled (active/set/defined) to repeat a sub-segment of the currently playing video, any attempt to activate the "Previous Video" function fails to take you to the previous video, as expected/intended. Instead, in this scenario, it only moves the playback to the A-marked frame of the currently playing video (consistent with the currently defined A-B Repeat segment). This behavior occurs regardless of how the "Previous Video" function is attempted to be activated (called), whether it be through a controller button press (appropriately configured to perform the function in settings), or by simply clicking the standard/provided "Previous Video" [|<] button within the main interface/overlay. There is simply no way to move to the previous video, unless you first disable (unset) the "A-B Repeat" status for the current video.
To my knowledge, this bug has been present for quite some time, possibly as far back as versions immediately superseding version 13.12.1 (Sept 2023), which was released shortly prior to the time I first experienced the bug. I have been assuming it would eventually be identified/discovered, and have been waiting for it to be fixed. In the meantime, I've been forced to use a dated copy of version 13.12.1, which I had fortunately backed up (this version does not have the bug described above). It is very frustrating, as my use case for DeoVR relies heavily on the "A-B Repeat" functionality and the persistence of the A-B definitions within certain videos. I'm hoping some amount of focus/priority can be placed on resolving this bug, so that I may once again be able to resume using newly released versions of the amazing DeoVR application, along with any new/useful added features.
Cheers & Thank You!
