HEVC Video Extensions and LAV Filters are both already instead. K-Lite isn't but I don't intend to install a Codec pack to attempt to resolve this issue either. Standard video players like MPC / VLC/ POT etc can play pretty much anything you throw at them without needing a codec pack, and using what I already had installed DeoVR also worked fine for 2 years right until one of your updates in the past 2 or 3 weeks.
On my end I've already resolved the issue the day after your update caused the problem by using Oculus Tray Tools' "Audio Switcher" settings to automatically switch audio devices when I launch an App. But like I said, for 2 years up until an update you guys pushed very recently, this was something I never had to do before as the audio used to work just fine, and even without using the OTT Audio Switcher the audio still works fine for every other app except DeoVR.
As for things like the video being muted, as I stated, the sound comes out of my PC's speakers instead of the Oculus Headset. As for the sound device being set to something else, I never had to adjust the device before as even with the Rift running and Oculus software running, if I were to play a video with a non Oculus app such as VLC t he sound would come out of my PC SPEAKERS and NOT the headset, but if I were to play an Oculus App the sound would come out of the OCULUS HEADSET and NOT my PC Speakers. This exact behavior is STILL how things work, with the sole exception of DeoVR. Since the problem ONLY effects DeoVR and no other app, the problem pretty much has to be within DeoVR and not just a general issue on my end.
Also, even though the video plays no sound through the headset, if I open up the Oculus Home Menu the SOUNDS for that stuff comes through the headset, AND while Oculus Menu is opened with the movie playing the movie sounds will then ALSO PLAY THROUGH THE HEADSET (while still playing out of my PC Speakres at the same time). Once I close the Oculus menu, the sound from the movie will once again ONLY play from the PC speakers.
I disabled the OTT Audio Switcher and played a file to replicate the problem and sent the output_log.txt file to the adress you specified.
PS: I would definitely like a previous version of DeoVR, but if I use that how do I prevent future updates? If you guys don't resolve the actual issue than any future update will just reintroduce the audio bug...
