I'd like to discuss a recent change in the DeoVR UI that has affected my experience as a user. Prior to the update, when playing local videos, the default settings were as follows:
- 6DOF (Six Degrees of Freedom) was OFF.
- Passthrough was OFF
These settings provided a seamless and immersive viewing experience without any distractions. However, with the recent update, the default behavior has been altered in a way that's causing frustration:
- 6DOF is now ON by default.
- Passthrough is also ON by default (configured with "Override6DOF" enabled and set to Alpha Packing instead of ChromaKey)
This is frustrating because I rarely want to use these features, and it's annoying to have to manually switch them both off for every video.
I propose that the DeoVR Team consider reverting the default settings to their previous state:
- 6DOF OFF by default.
- Passthrough OFF by default.
This adjustment would significantly improve the user experience and allow users to customize their settings according to their preferences, while preserving the simplicity and ease of use that DeoVR has been known for.
