AR passthrough video quality: codec/export recommendation?

I am experimenting with passthrough videos right now.
I followed the tutorial and created passthrough videos via the Deo Alpha Packer.

Everything works fine, and the way Deo "invented" the embedded alpha/matte for passthrough is pretty cool (does it really need to be black/red matte though? A standard black and white matte would be more straight forward?)

One thing that I'm worrying about: video quality.
After exporting my video, it's around 11 gb large, after running the video and mask through the alpha packer, it gets sized down to 1-2 gb.

I didn't have the time to compare/analyse the files in detail, at first look the export looks okay. I wonder: What is the alpha packer doing to the source files, and do I need to be afraid of quality loss?

Is there a recommendation for source files?

karl Hi! Most likely there is some loss of quality if the video is compressed from 11GB to 1-2GB. Would be great to upload both videos (with alpha and without) to compare? If the quality is significantly different, we can work on improvements. I suspect that the alpha packer removes the background and this alone reduces the file size.
