stick movement not registering on Quest 3 controllers

Hello,
I’m using a Meta Quest 3 and I would like to report an issue with the thumbstick controls when using DEO VR through Link Cable / PC VR mode.

I confirmed that the standalone version of the app (installed directly from the Meta Store) works correctly and the thumbstick problem does not occur there.

However, for my use case I need to play large video files stored on my PC, so I must rely on the Link Cable version. Unfortunately, in this mode the thumbstick issue persists and makes navigation difficult.

Can anyone confirm if this issue still happens if you connect the Quest 3 via a link cable and then use the native DeoVR app on the headset? Does this still stream movies/video files from your PC this way?

I'm having the same issue but if a link cable will fix it then I'll buy one.

My understanding is, the major player for headsets is Meta, currently Quest3. The major player from streaming and games is Steam. Deovr is one of the best video players but there are competitors. Deove seem to want to bypass Steam, that might well make sense but others like MS have tried and failed. In the meantime, you customers, the majority of whom use Quest, are being neglected with continual updates that provide no benefit but introduce one bug after another. It’s not for me to tell you how to run your business but in an age when we are bombarded with customer feedback requests there might be something to gain by listening to them.
I have sympathy with you though, in that the masters of updates that provide nothing but hassle is of course Meta!

there is a reason they want it disabled. use your imagination. It's not healthy to think this is a bug as they would lead you to believe

I don't get it. DeoVR are a video player platform. Streaming is not always possible and some uses require local storage, say industrial use. If DeoVR want to dominate surely they should ensure all the features of the market leading headset work. They may currently still have the advantage of still being the best but history is littered with those who became complacent.

I have found a workaround for this but it relies on you having a decent and fast Wifi connection.

You can set up your PC/NAS as a DLNA server in Windows Media Sharing, share your content folder, and access the video files that way through the onboard DeoVR. I have a 1Gbps internet connection and 8K files work absolutely fine. Though others with less bandwidth available might not have as much success with higher bitrate files.
