Notes on PassThrough announcement

I've been doing stuff like this for some time so wanted to drop a couple ideas here:

The video should be as compact as possible. Keep the frame as tight around the subject as you can to avoid wasted pixels = wasted bandwidth/memory/power/FPS etc.
Shoot in stereo for 3D avatars!
Alpha pack currently better than chromakey shaders we've tried, but who knows, maybe someone has a better one?

Hi DaveA, thanks for sharing! For now, you would need to enable passthrough for each video in the DeoVR App "Settings" tab:
Settings:
Hue: 37
Saturation: 100
Brightness: 100
Color range 417
Fall off: 950

We will be adding an alpha channel track to all passthrough videos (in development, it's coming in a few weeks) so videos will automatically have passthrough settings enabled in the app. Enjoy!

I always use this setting for start,
Hue; 50
saturation ; 47
brightness; 47
color range; 220-230
fall off; 990
see what showed up and play with brigtness and saturation. If background is white or shiny, push up the brightness, and pull downside the saturation, if background is colorful must be the saturation up and brightness down.
At last try fall off upwards max 997, if need it,

What about support for Passthrough using Airlink to PCVR?

Dekard it will be implemented later as it's still in beta in Oculus SDK. Otherswise we are also making passthrough with with smartphones with upcoming flat version app stores release.
