Hey everyone!
We're excited to announce Watch Party (Multiuser) — a new feature in DeoVR Hyper that lets you and your friends watch VR videos together, perfectly synchronized, in real time. Think of it as your own virtual theater.
The Host controls playback — when they play, pause, or seek, every guest follows along automatically.
✅ Prerequisites
You must be logged in to your DeoVR account. Watch Party won't work without authentication.
🚀 How to Get Started
- Install the latest DeoVR Hyper app from the Meta store
- Launch the app and log in to your DeoVR account
- After logging in, click "Watch Party" at the bottom-right of the screen, next to the navigation bar
🏠 Creating & Joining a Room
Create a Room
- Click Create to start a new session
- You automatically become the Host and get a 6-digit room code to share
Join a Room
- Get the 6-digit room code from the Host
- Enter it in the input field and click Connect
👑 Host Controls
- Remove a participant — click the ✕ next to their name in the guest list
- Show your controller/hand to guests — enable the "wand" button next to your nickname in the guest list
- Share the room code — use the "Copy room code" button at the top of the panel
🎮 UI Tips
Toggle the panel — click the Watch Party button again at any time to hide/show the side panel
Reset your view — hold the Oculus button on your controller for 5 seconds to recenter the dome
⚠️ Known Limitation — No In-App Voice (Yet)
Audio communication is not yet supported inside Watch Party. For voice chat while watching, join the DeoVR Discord server and use one of the #Watch Party voice channels.
