Also seeing this issue with a server hosted on my local network.

If I go to an HTML page in the deo browser and click a direct video link, I get black screen with loading dots that never loads.
If I have the server generate me a DeoVR JSON file, the exact same links do work when clicked using the Deo JSON navigator.

I'm thinking this is more likely a DeoVR issue than a Quest OS issue 'since the video files work just fine through the JSON viewer.

While you're at it, can you make the DeoVR JSON viewer thumbnails work over http? The only way I can get them to display is if I give it an HTTPS link to an image file.

A long time ago I wrote a little windows program that can send a web link to DeoVR player.

Now I am just wondering if this is still working. After all it does not depend on the web browser.
BTW, DeoVR needs to enable the remote mode and play some video in order for it to work.

Just tested. It still works.

I couldn't yet figure out playing local vids with DeoVR JSON, I could play remote videos from remote sources, I copied a working json from jillvr.com, so my local setup is working, but videos from localhost won't. Did a self signed cert for https, but that wasn't the issue, the video codec was also fine, these videos worked before.

I was able to play these local videos with DLNA.

Seems this is not specific to Oculus, I have loading spinner in Pico as well for 1 month now. Or I hope it's the same issue: https://forum.deovr.com/d/10559-app-is-not-loading/11

I'm also affected by this issue. I can browse 3rd party websites, but unable to play/stream/download video from them.
